Wow, how had I not caught wind of this prior to it already being dropped? Not sure, but all that I know is that this is one hell of a collaboration. This mix tape hits hard. La Roux’s powerful electro-femme-pop vocals meets fictional vampire battling, dub hop, hover-board toting Jamaican commando Major Lazer’s hard hitting smorgasbord of sound.

Those of you not familiar with Major Lazer, there really isn’t an artist specifically known as Major Lazer insomuch as it is DJ’s Diplo and Switch putting their heads together and bringing some major names on board to craft the image of the Jamaican commando. Collabs have run the gamut of hip hop connoisseurs, including but not limited to Afro Jack, Crookers, Kartel, and even Diplo’s main squeeze M.I.A.

So take the notion of Major Lazer meld it with La Roux, and you’ve got yourself a mixtape we promise you’ll love. Stand out tracks include La Roux’s hallmark track Bulletproof remixed by Matt Hemerlein, Cover My Eyes, and I’m Not Your Lemonade + Heroes n Villans Remix ft. yes, Gucci Mane.
