Radiohead Guitarist Doesn’t Believe Piracy is Killing the Industry

120905Ed O’Brien, guitarist for the famed band Radiohead, refuses to believe piracy is playing any role in “killing the music industry.” For O’Brien, it’s more of the industry killing itself as it struggles to adapt to the digital era.

Radiohead formed the Featured Artists Coalition last year to unite bands against record labels in order to gain more control of their own music.

O’Brien believes people who download the music can support the band in other ways such as buying concert tickets or a t-shirt. Or they may even buy the record after downloading it.

His message to those in the music industry is simply to “move quicker.”
