With all the music dropping on Christmas, (Cool Kids, Black Milk, and Thurzday to name a few) a low-key mixtape drop might be the best of all.
18-year-old rapper, CJ The Genesis dropped his new mixtape, “Hiatus” at midnight.
What really makes this mixtape good is that the guy is only 18. From start to finish “Hiatus” is a solid listen. Mixed with some sampling including Jay Electronica, Coldplay, and Phil Collins, CJ The Genesis manages to do justice to them all.
Lyrically powerful, “Hiatus” is quite possibly an early showcase to what the kid has to offer. He’s someone to be excited about now, so just imagine what he might be up to in a few years.
You can follow CJ The Genesis on Twitter.
Listen to “Show Me Love” and download the tape.
