Burberry Presents Art of the Trench

trenchStyle blogs are a dime-a-dozen, quality is few and far between, and any conceptual breakthroughs are rare at best. Street photographers such as the Sartorialist’s Scott Schuman and the U.K.’s female equivalent Garance Dore have experienced huge success per their respective blogs for a number of reasons. The most important is that their subjects aren’t runway models or high-fashion icons, but well-dressed every day people living their lives. The other being that, both blogs are just that, blogs.

Cue Burberry’s new project, Art of the Trench. A site dedicated to documenting the trench coat and the people who wear them. The best part about Burberry’s new project is within its presentation. A grid-based, fluid, categorically filtered way of delving into professionally taken photos by aforementioned Scott Schuman and photos taken by you. Submission has a few guidelines:

  • File size must not exceed 10MB
  • Photo orientation must be portrait
  • The person in the photo must be wearing a Burberry trench coat
