Mixtape Monday: Menya & Buck 65

This week’s mixtape must-haves come from Menya and Buck 65.

Menya is a trio (Angie Ripe, Good Goose, CoCo Dame) who fuses pop, hip-hop, and club music, which creates a sound and style I haven’t come across before. To put it simply, it’s purely awesome.

Good Goose is the man behind the scenes, producing beats which sound like nothing you’ve ever heard before, while the lovely ladies, Angie Ripe and CoCo Dame do their thing on the mircophone.

To celebrate the fact Buck 65, one of my favorite artists of all time, has finally created a Twitter account, I decided it’s a good time to bust out volume one from his “Dirtbike” series of mixtapes a couple years ago. Guessing that many of you don’t have it, I highly encourage you to download this and give it a listen. The intro instrumental track is out of this world, and Buck’s flow throughout the rest of the tracks is old school and raw. The beats are also dope.

There’s so many great tracks on this, any kind of hip-hop fan can find enjoyment out of the mixtape.

All the tracks on it are untitled, so here’s my makeshift title for the song posted below: “Legs Like Shotguns,” featuring Moka Only. Download the entire mixtape, here.
