Nike Air Yeezy: Spring 2009

Nike Sportswear and Grammy award winning musician Kanye West are releasing the long awaited Air Yeezy this spring. The shoe’s name was drawn from West’s nickname and will reflect his unique since of style with three different colorways available.

West worked with Nike’s creative director, Mark Smith to develop the design of the shoe much like Nike’s sponsored athletes have worked with Nike Design for over 30 years. In Nike’s official press release announcing the shoe Mark Smith said, ““Kanye is a truly creative talent. He’s a natural designer—partnerships like this always enhance the creative experience and the end product.”

According to the release, Both Nike and West’s goal is “to create a modern classic. An original Nike footwear style, that reflects elements of Nike’s sporting past, and remixes them with Nike innovation to deliver a unique shoe.”

The first of the three colorways is set to release in April, followed by the second in May and the final color in May.  Below is another look at the shoes in order of their release.

I was perusing The Shoe Game website and stumbled across some other colors similar to these Yeezy’s and thought they were pretty dope.  Hope they are not just concept colors and they release them.  Comment and let us know your thoughts.
